Two hundred and thirty years after popularizing the guillotine, the French have made yet another revolutionary stride in the art of protesting, drenching a government building with a steady stream of manure.

Though several details surrounding the demonstration remain unknown  — a secret between the farmers, manure wholesalers, and let’s be real here, the ghost of every last French revolutionary — the protesters were allegedly so peeved over high taxes that they got resourceful, grabbing a giant hose and piling layers upon layers of poop before the gates of the Prefecture of Indre in Châteauroux, France.

Naturally, the people of Twitter were inspired by these heroic and very smelly acts, heading to social media with a cry for us all to step our game up.

“We need more people to fight against the tyranny of these governments,” wrote @NAPWP587902.

“I’m convinced French people have a genetic predisposition to know how to protest,” added @drewxvz while @ForgingLiberty suggested that the farmers “do their houses next.”

But whether or not you’re impressed by these feces-filled fences, one thing is certain — anything you can protest, the French can protest better.
